Betsy Merck
Betsy Merck is principal of her consulting business, which is focused on organizational effectiveness and executive coaching to leverage leadership for improved organizational performance. She works with small to large organizations, with leaders who are engaged in strategic change initiatives and are interested in improving their performance and /or that of their team and organization.
Betsy has more than twenty years of experience in coaching, organizational and leadership development in both private and public organizations. She has worked in leadership capacities with Hewlett-Packard Company and Levi Strauss & Co. Having lived and worked internationally, she is experienced with different cultures and global business issues, and has clients in Europe, South America and Asia.
A graduate of the University of Oregon with a Masters in Industrial and Labor Relations, she is certified as a professional coach with New Ventures West. She is also certified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).
Betsy is a member of the Organization Development Network and the STS Roundtable, a professional organization focused on organizational effectiveness guided by principles of participatory democracy. She was a commissioner on the Santa Clara County, California Commission on the Status of Women in the early 1980s, and trained as a conflict mediator for the City of Oakland, California.
