Orla Castanien
Orla is an executive coach and leadership consultant passionate about empowering leaders to maximize performance, achieve strategic objectives, and bring more of who they truly are to their careers. Twenty years of leadership in finance, operations and marketing provide a keen awareness of leadership challenges and allow for a thoughtful and pragmatic approach to navigating organizational change and successful leadership development.
Orla is a member of The Exetor Group, a leading consortium of coaches and business professionals. Prior to Exetor, Orla was an executive coach and consultant with Sloan Group International, where she partnered with client organizations to provide executive coaching, team facilitation and leadership development. She has become a trusted partner to executives in creating sustainable solutions for leadership and organizational challenges.
Orla received her consulting training at Deloitte and went on to hold leadership positions in finance, strategic planning and nonprofit administration both in Ireland and the US, including serving as Chief Financial Officer for Unicare Pharmacy Group, Ireland’s first national pharmacy chain. After moving to the US, Orla founded Nuada LLC to promote and market the work of Irish artists and designers, and to provide consulting services to small business and Irish government bodies promoting Irish companies in the U.S.
Education includes a BS in Commerce from University College Galway, Ireland and a Master of Accounting, University College Dublin, Ireland. Certifications: CPI 260, LMAP 360 Profiler, RAW-Q (Resilience at Work) Assessment & Facilitator certification, Realise2 Strengths Assessment certification, Genos Emotional Intelligence (EQ), and iPEC Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner.
Orla is a graduate of the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching, a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, and a member of the International Consortium for Coaching in Organizations. She is a volunteer coach and workshop facilitator at The Career Transitions Center in Chicago, and is actively involved in international aid organizations supporting sustainable development.
